When you’re taking on a Bluegrass classic like the LITTLE MOUNTAIN CHURCH (sometimes called Little Mountain Church House too), co-written by the legendary
Carl Jackson and Jim Rushing, you need to be bringing your A-Game to the studio! Well, NORMAN BORLAND did just that.
And even better, he brought Irish country great MICK FLAVIN along with him!

The duo have teamed up for the first time to lay down a version of the 1990 International Bluegrass Association’s Song of the Year which you’ll be humming all day long, into the night, and then in your dreams, too. Not surprising, of course, given that over 100 artists worldwide have already recorded Little Mountain Church, including Ricky Skaggs and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Seldom, though, have two voices ever been as perfectly matched in bringing this song to life. Hearing the depth of Norman’s endlessly country tones blend seamlessly with a voice as rich in traditionally sweet-toned earthiness as Mick’s is a moment of beauty. This is the ideal choice of song, paired with
the perfect combination of voices. And music simply doesn’t get much better than that.

This version of the Little Mountain Church is a track that brings the feeling of sitting around an open-fire of an evening whilst in the company of two men who have shared and traded songs in that way for decades, as they use their vocal gifts to once again tempt all that’s wrong in the world back into alignment again.
Truly, a feeling to be enjoyed, time and time again. And we think listeners will do just that.
